Apu Apustaja, whose name roughly translates from Finnish as help helper, first appeared on the imageboard Ylilauta around early 2016. He was drawn in the intentionally clumsy MS Paint style pioneered by Spurdo Sparde, another Finnish creation, giving him simplified features and an innocent, slightly clueless expression.
