Origin

Milly belongs to the Instagram account fatfatmillycat, which posted the photograph on 23 July 2022. It is a plain picture of a cat with her tongue out, and it collected roughly 6,500 likes in its first month, which is a decent day for a cat account and nothing more than that. The account made the first joke with it itself, on 5 August 2022, posting the image captioned i can act rather silly at times, which took over 32,900 likes. What turned a photograph into a format was a post by @vampiric_shirin on 23 August 2022, which paired it with an invented exchange: teacher, do your homework now, followed by BLEHHHHH :P i am NOT doing that u can't make me. It took more than 7,600 reposts and 48,700 likes inside a week and established the only rule the format has, which is that Milly is always refusing something.

Spread

Once the shape was obvious the format duplicated quickly, because everyone has a thing they do not want to do. Within three days there were two more hits on 26 August 2022, one from @iwuvboobsfr with 3,200 reposts and 25,200 likes and one from @el_Fars_ with 7,400 reposts and 44,600 likes. Milly arrived in the middle of the wider Silly Cats wave of 2022, the running position that cats are not dignified animals but idiots engaged in tomfoolery, and she became its most quotable exhibit. From there the image outgrew its own captions and turned into punctuation. It works as a reaction, a sticker, a GIF, and a way to end an argument by declining to have it, which is roughly what it has been doing on TikTok and in group chats every year since.

Legacy

Bleh Cat is an unusual case of a meme with no story, no context and no joke inside the picture, and that is exactly why it survived four years. It needs only a demand to reject. Its crypto history is shorter and much more repetitive. A Solana token called Blehhhhh Cat was minted on 25 March 2024 and has sat at around 1,600 dollars of liquidity ever since, which is the on-chain equivalent of a business card. The meme got a serious attempt on 1 August 2026, with a pump.fun mint at 06:09:02 UTC that completed its bonding curve inside the same minute, launched off a post published forty eight minutes earlier. Two further Solana contracts with the same name followed at 09:29 and 09:42 UTC that same morning, both reporting implausible valuations from thin single pools, and mirrors turned up on Robinhood Chain and BNB Chain. Nobody appears to have asked the owner of fatfatmillycat about any of it.
