Andy (Boy's Club) of the four slacker roommates from Matt Furie's comic Boy's Club, and a close friend of the character who became Pepe the Frog.
Origin
Andy first appeared in Matt Furie's underground comic Boy's Club, self published and later collected in the late 2000s. The strip followed four post adolescent housemates, including the frog who would go on to become the internet phenomenon Pepe, and Andy was drawn as one of his easygoing companions. For years Andy lived in the shadow of his more famous roommate, appearing in the same panels but rarely singled out.
Spread
As Pepe grew into one of the most remixed images online, fans and communities began mining the rest of the Boy's Club cast for fresh material. Andy was rediscovered as a distinct character with his own expressions and reaction potential, and edits featuring him circulated as a way to celebrate the wider Boy's Club universe. This second life turned a background roommate into a recognizable meme figure in his own right.
Legacy
Andy became a cornerstone of the extended Boy's Club meme family, standing alongside Pepe, Brett, and Landwolf as fans embraced the whole ensemble. His revival showed how a supporting character from a niche comic could find a huge audience more than a decade after his debut.
