Hyperskids is a Solana charity memecoin built around a viral troupe of child dancers from Kampala, Uganda, promising to convert speculative trading into food, school fees and housing for the kids. Despite the Hyper prefix it is not a Hyperliquid project, the name refers to the HypersKids Africa dance group.
Origin
The HypersKids are a real group of Ugandan children who went viral posting high-energy dance clips under the tag hypers born talented, organized by local mentors Sserunjogi Marvin and Butindo Moses. In late December 2024 that following was minted into a Solana token pitched as the first charity memecoin, letting the online audience turn attention into on-chain donations.
Spread
The coin rode the group's existing social reach, spreading through crypto Twitter and Solana meme circles as a feel-good counter-narrative to zero-utility gambling coins. Explainers on Gate, CoinMarketCap and Forbes framed it as a GiveFi experiment pairing holder rewards with donations, giving it a story larger than its small market cap.
Legacy
Hyperskids became a reference point in the debate over whether memecoins can do real-world good or whether charity coin is just a marketing skin. After an early-2025 all-time high it retraced roughly 95 percent, settling into a small community-run token whose lasting mark is the question it raised more than the money it moved.
