LOL Guy open-mouthed laughing rage face used to punctuate the funny beat of a comic, the visual shorthand for LOL in the rage-comics vocabulary.
Origin
LOL Guy emerged out of the rage-comic face set that grew on 4chan's /b/ and the early reddit rage-comic boards around 2010 to 2011. Unlike faces traced from a single source image, the laughing face was a community drawing convention that stabilized into a reusable panel: a crude black-outline head thrown back, eyes scrunched, mouth wide open in laughter.
Spread
As MS Paint rage comics exploded across reddit's r/f7u12 and Tumblr through 2011, LOL Guy became one of the default punchline faces, dropped into the last panel of a comic the way a laugh track lands a joke. Its simplicity made it endlessly re-drawable by anyone with a mouse.
Legacy
LOL Guy never had the solo fame of Trollface or Forever Alone, but it survives as a core member of the rage-face cast and a piece of the internet's transition from text lol to drawn emotion. It reads today as pure 2011 nostalgia, and picked up a small Solana tribute coin in 2026.
