This article is about the internet meme. For the original Solana memecoin, see NIKITA BOAR ($BOAR).

Nikita Boar January 2026 the head of product at X told Crypto Twitter that its collapsing reach was self-inflicted, then deleted several of the posts explaining why. Crypto Twitter answered the way it always does: it renamed him. Nikita Bier became Nikita Boar, the nickname trended the same day, and a token was minted before the argument had even finished. Three months later his friends had a live boar delivered to his office to celebrate a million followers, which turned a revenge insult into a matter of public record, and the coin named after that insult printed its all-time high two days after the animal arrived.

Layer 1 · The Lore

Origin

Nikita Bier joined X as head of product in July 2025, arriving with a reputation built on tbh and Gas, two teen social apps he founded and sold. The trouble started in the second week of January 2026, when a change to X's ranking left Crypto Twitter reporting that its reach had been obliterated. Complaints ran from Friday 9 January into the following week. Bier did not offer sympathy. His position, reported by Protos on 13 January 2026 and repeated across crypto media that week, was that Crypto Twitter's shrinking reach was not X suppressing crypto but crypto users burying their own feeds in spam: "gm" replies, engagement farming, bot-written filler. The line that stuck was that CT was dying from suicide, not from the algorithm. An allegation that he considered friendly "gm" posts to be wasting everyone's reach passed 1.5 million views. He also posted, then deleted, several explanations of how the ranking allots each account a limited daily budget of reach, so screenshots of vanished posts became the primary source material. The rename happened on 11 January 2026. Angry traders started calling him Nikita Boar, a one-vowel mutilation of his surname that recast a product executive as a large hostile pig, and X's own trending page carried it that evening under the headline that Nikita Bier had become Nikita Boar in a Crypto Twitter meme frenzy.

Spread

The token came before the trend page did. The earliest Nikita Boar contract we can date, 5ohBqLgmccJstRhrFskitBYa7DtwQ13HZmFzH8Wepump, was minted on pump.fun at 12:49:09 UTC on 11 January 2026, and its PumpSwap pool opened at 14:13 UTC, roughly six hours before the nickname hit the trending list. A second contract carrying the same name arrived at 18:45 UTC the same day. This is the modern shape of a meme: the argument, the nickname and the market all happen inside one working day. Then the joke came to life. On the evening of 23 April 2026, US time, Bier posted that to celebrate reaching a million followers his mentally ill friends had had an actual boar delivered to the office that day, with photographic evidence. He did not fight the nickname, he catered it. The market noticed immediately: the original BOAR contract set its all-time high of roughly 2.2 million dollars in market capitalisation on 26 April 2026, two days after the delivery, having spent the previous three months as a January leftover. A second pool for the same mint was opened on 25 April, mid-revival. A fresh Nikita Boar contract was minted on 5 July 2026 and peaked the same day near half a million dollars, which is the usual pattern of a meme being re-listed by strangers rather than revived by its original holders.

Legacy

Nikita Boar is a small case study in who owns a nickname. Bier never adopted it in his own posts, but he accepted the boar delivery, photographed it and published it, which is how an insult minted by a hostile audience became part of his own public record. The tokens were never his and remain unaffiliated with him, and the largest one has spent most of its life under a 50,000 dollar market cap, which puts the meme's real value in the story rather than in the chart. His tenure ended on 5 August 2026, when he announced he was stepping down as head of product at X after about thirteen months, writing that it was time to pass the torch and demote himself to his natural state, a poster. TechCrunch's report on the departure covered the Grok controversies of his tenure and did not mention crypto at all, which is a fair measure of how the fight looked from outside the timeline it consumed. The nickname outlasted the job.
