Rage Guy Guy is the screaming 'FFFFFUUUU' face that kicked off the entire rage comics format. Born from a crude 2008 four panel MS Paint comic on 4chan, it became one of the defining fill in the blank meme templates of the early internet, and in 2025 it was tokenized as the RAGEGUY memecoin on Solana.
Origin
Rage Guy first appeared in 2008 on 4chan's /b/ board as a four panel comic drawn in MS Paint. The strip recounted the everyday misery of toilet splashback, with the first three panels setting up the moment and the fourth zooming in on a contorted face screaming 'FFFFFFUUUUUUUU-'. The character had no official name and no known author, which was the whole appeal. Anyone could redraw it in seconds.
Spread
In January 2009 Reddit opened the r/fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu community, nicknamed 'f7u12' after the original scream, where users posted their own four panel strips about small daily frustrations. The format exploded into a whole cast of reaction faces known as rage comics, including Forever Alone, Me Gusta, Y U NO Guy, Okay Guy and Cereal Guy. Rage Guy was named a Mashable Best Internet Memes finalist in December 2010, the same year Hot Topic began selling Rage Guy merchandise.
Legacy
Rage Guy is the ancestor of the rage comics movement, one of the first meme formats built entirely around a reusable template that anyone could fill in with their own story. Its screaming FFFFFUUUU face is still instant shorthand for online frustration more than a decade later. In 2025 the character was minted as RAGEGUY on Solana, a community token that brands itself as the original Rage Guy on chain.
