6-7 (Six Seven)
6-7 (Six Seven) "6-7" (chanted 'six... seven,' often with an alternating palms-up scale gesture) is a Gen-Alpha brainrot catchphrase that swept 2025. Its defining trait is having no fixed meaning: kids blurt it whenever the numbers 6 and 7 appear, or as pure nonsense, and the emptiness is the joke.
Origin
The phrase comes from Philadelphia drill rapper Skrilla's track 'Doot Doot (6 7),' first surfacing in December 2024 and getting an official release on February 7, 2025. Early edits paired the hook with NBA guard LaMelo Ball, who is listed at 6 ft 7 in. A viral clip of Overtime Elite prospect Taylen Kinney deadpanning 'six, seven' when asked to rate a Starbucks drink helped detach the phrase from basketball into free-floating meme.
Spread
Through 2025 it detonated on TikTok via basketball edits and classroom clips, becoming a reflexive chant among schoolkids and a running annoyance for teachers. Skrilla himself declined to assign it meaning, saying he never gave it one and would not want to. It crossed fully into mainstream culture when South Park opened season 28 (episode aired October 15, 2025) with children 'brainwashed' by the 6-7 meme.
Legacy
In October 2025 Dictionary.com crowned '67' its Word of the Year, calling it a burst of energy that connects people before anyone agrees what it means. '6-7' became the shorthand emblem of 2025 internet brainrot, endlessly cloned across merch, sounds, and, inevitably, memecoins.
