Linus Tech Tips helped cement 'Trust Me Bro' in tech culture around 2021 by half-jokingly floating a no-paperwork 'Trust Me Bro' warranty, later merchandised on a T-shirt. In parallel the 'source: trust me bro' macro, often stamped over Gigachad or Dr. Manhattan alongside cousins like 'it was revealed to me in a dream,' spread across Reddit meme boards. From there it jumped into everyday argument-ending replies and, inevitably, into crypto, where it became the sarcastic tag for any token or 'guaranteed' return backed by nothing but a promise.
Legacy
The phrase now functions as a two-word bullshit detector: the moment 'trust me bro' shows up, everyone knows the evidence never existed. It is one of the most durable reply-guy catchphrases of the 2020s, equally at home dismissing a wild historical claim and roasting a memecoin's whitepaper. Fittingly, launching a token literally named 'trust me, bro' is the meme completing its own loop, an asset whose only stated fundamental is the joke about having no fundamentals.
