Origin

The dog came first and by a wide margin. Kori posts through the TikTok account @pomkori_, with a second handle @pomkori carried in the token's own metadata, plus Instagram and a linktree. The account had been putting out ordinary small dog content for a while before the algorithm picked one video and refused to let go. That video went up on 26 April 2025. It is a paid placement for Block Blast, the tile clearing game from Hungry Studio, and the joke is simply that a Pomeranian on a skateboard is doing better at the game than you are. Native advertising usually gets buried. This one did the opposite: it passed one billion views in about a month, and on 3 June 2025 The Measure reported it as the most watched video on TikTok over the previous ninety days and the most watched TikTok of the year to that point, roughly 340 million views clear of the runner up. The stronger claim that circulates in Kori's orbit, that this was the fastest any TikTok has ever reached a billion views and that she is the only dog to do it with a single video, is a community and fan claim rather than a platform confirmed record. TikTok has never published a leaderboard for this. The billion is documented. The superlative around it is not.

What followed was the standard viral dog escalation, compressed. Brand accounts, musicians and media pages started dropping Kori into their own posts, the clip got duetted into oblivion, and she turned up in music videos and on television. Her own project materials now count views across everything associated with her in the billions, which is the sort of number that is impossible to audit and equally impossible to ignore. The crypto chapter is messier than the marketing one. A pump.fun mint named pomkori already existed: it was created at 07:59:41 UTC on 7 March 2025 by wallet HLv6yCEpgjQV9PcKsvJpem8ESyULTyh9HjHn9CtqSek1, carried no socials, and today sits at around 1,900 dollars of market capitalisation. Coverage of the project describes an early attempt on pump.fun that went badly and a deliberate relaunch elsewhere with the owner's involvement. The relaunch is on chain and dated: the token at HtTYHz1Kf3rrQo6AqDLmss7gq5WrkWAaXn3tupUZbonk, a letsBONK.fun mint whose address ends in bonk, got its first Raydium market at 13:15:23 UTC on 13 May 2025. The run was fast. CoinGecko records the all time high price at 0.057977 dollars at 09:45:26 UTC on 13 July 2025, which against an on chain supply of 999,863,456.87 tokens is roughly 58 million dollars of market capitalisation, two months after the pool opened. The project also says a representative called into MrBeast's clean water charity livestream, told him Kori had hit a billion views before he did, and donated 25,000 dollars live. That stream is real and well documented, raising 12 million dollars in about fifteen and a half hours. The donation is the project's own account of it and has not been independently confirmed.

Legacy

Kori's contribution is a genuinely new shape: an advertisement that became the meme rather than a meme that later got an advertisement. Most branded content dies in the feed. This one outran every organic video on the platform for a year, and it did so while openly being an ad for a puzzle game, which is either a triumph of dog or an indictment of everything else. For memecoins the interesting part is the ownership question. Most animal tokens are built on a photograph whose subject has no idea and no say. Kori's account is a working media business with an owner who is publicly attached to the relaunched token, which puts the project on the small list of dog coins that can point at a human who agreed to it. That does not make it endorsed by anyone outside the project, and it does not make it a good trade, but it does make the provenance checkable, which is more than the category usually offers. Checked on 25 August 2026 the token holds roughly 2.66 million dollars of market capitalisation on about 426,000 dollars of liquidity across ten Solana pools that agree on price, with around 210,000 dollars of daily volume. That is a long way down from July 2025 and still a functioning market, which for a token whose entire thesis is a dog on a skateboard counts as durability.
